Changsha Customs recently released statistical data showing that in the first half of the year, the import and export value of Hunan’s rail transit equipment was 750 million yuan, an increase of 101.2% compared to the same period last year, achieving a significant increase.
State owned enterprises dominate. In the first six months, state-owned enterprises in Hunan Province imported and exported 620 million yuan of rail transit equipment, a year-on-year increase of 98.6%, accounting for over 80% of the total import and export volume of rail transit equipment. The import and export volume of Sino foreign joint ventures has doubled, with a year-on-year increase of 152.8%.
Zhuzhou is the main export city, with rapid growth in Changde and Yongzhou. In the first six months, Zhuzhou’s import and export amounted to 710 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 102.3%, accounting for 94.4%; The import and export of Changde and Yongzhou increased by 714.0% and 485.2% respectively year-on-year, all of which are export products.
Germany, the Czech Republic, and Mexico are major trading partners, all experiencing significant growth. In the first half of the year, imports and exports with Germany reached 210 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 128%; Import and export with the Czech Republic reached 100 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 359.2%; Import and export with Mexico reached 100 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1786.2%.
According to the analysis of Changsha Customs, the import and export of rail transit equipment in Hunan has achieved significant growth, mainly due to the decline in international transportation costs and active import and export trade. Taking the export to Germany as an example, the price of a 40 foot regular container has gradually fallen back to the pre pandemic level. The processing trade project of Mexico City Rail Line 1 and the metro vehicle project of the new airport in Istanbul, Türkiye have entered the period of raw material import, installation and vehicle delivery this year, which has led to frequent import and export.
